Our Mini Grant Program is available throughout the year for up to $250. The form is located above.

Mini grants are available to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, agencies, or organizations that are affiliated with non-taxable organizations i.e. schools, churches, city governments located or servicing people in Dickinson County and surrounding Michigan and Wisconsin areas.

Coats of Many Colors

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to “Coats of Many Colors” program. The program provides winter weather items such as coats, snow pants, hats, mittens and boots for school aged children in need in Niagara and the surrounding communities.

Menominee Range Historical Foundation Museum

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to the Menominee Range Historical Foundation Museum. The purpose of the grant is to assist in funding the expenses of the longstanding traditional parade for the Fourth of July.

Niagara Historical Museum Society

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to the Niagara Historical Society. The funds will be used to promote the museum and website to educate the community regarding the various exhibits and events happening at the museum. Dickinson County Community Theatre

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to the DCCT (DickinsonCounty CommunityTheater). The grant will be used to help defray the costs of their LIVE performance, the first in over a years’ time.

National Night Out

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to the City of Niagara to assist with their upcoming “National Night Out” event. The event provides an opportunity for the police department and other service agencies to work cooperatively on child protection, education and actions. This year’s event will be held on Tuesday, August 3rd, and a schedule of activities will be announced at a later date.

Downtown Iron Mountain Development

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to the Downtown Iron Mountain Development Authority for the purpose of beautifying the downtown area. The entire project costs is approximately $15,000.00 to fund the flowers and beautification program.

CFACF Youth Advisory Council (YAC) at Forest Park High School

The Crystal Falls Area Community Foundation, in partnership with the Dickinson Area Community Foundation, recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) at Forest Park High School. The funds will be used to upgrade the clothes closet which is available in a confidential setting to all students at no cost. The clothes closet features gently used, trendy clothing items as well as personal hygiene items at no cost to the students.

Dickinson County Library

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250.00 grant to the Dickinson County Library. The funds will be used to assist in purchasing an FM transmitter. The FM Transmitter will be used this summer for Interactive Drive-In Movies; patrons can register for a bag of treats/materials that they will use to interact with the movie the watch from their car and listen to by tuning into a radio station and connect using the FM transmitter. In this way, the library can accommodate multiple families during this program in a safe and fun way!
As time moves forward, this equipment will continue offering movies as well as drive-in programs featuring local history speakers, trivia nights, storytimes, guest performers, and more, all in downtown Iron Mountain. Having this equipment will enable the library to offer this type of programming to multiple age groups, diverse populations, and cover various topics.

Squadron 50 War Memorial Corp.

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation, along with affiliates Crystal Falls Area Community Foundation and Norway Area Community Foundation, recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to Squadron 50 War Memorial Corp. The funds will assist with the expansion of the War Memorial adjacent to the Pine Mountain Ski Jump. This will include all branches of the military and areas of conflict.

The Windsor Center

The Crystal Falls Area Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Dickinson Area Community Foundation, recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to the The Windsor Center . The grant funds will be used to assist in purchasing rolling garment racks and hangers for the new free Community Closet. The Community Closet is located at the Windsor Center and will offer clothing, shoes and accessories FREE to the public.

UP Foster Closet of Iron County

The Crystal Falls Area Community Foundation along with Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $250.00 mini grant to the U.P. Foster Closet of Iron County. The funds will be used to assist in purchasing much needed items such as diapers, wipes, socks and underwear for foster families hosting young children.

Woodland Childcare Center

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation recently awarded a $ 250.00 mini grant to the Woodland Childcare Center. The funds will be used to purchase seeds and other items needed to grow their garden this spring. The little ones will participate in all aspects of gardening, from getting the soil ready, planting the seeds, watering the plants and harvesting the produce. The kids will be taught recipes and enjoy literally the “fruits of their labor” throughout this gardening process.
