Agency Grants

The Dickinson Area Community Foundation manages endowment funds for the following non-profit agency organizations and maintains an open line of communication to understand each organization's greatest need. 

Adult Literacy Agency Fund

This is an agency fund that supports the community adult basic literacy program i.e., reading, writing, math, English as a Second Language (ESL).

Almost Home Animal Shelter

This is an agency fund that supports the operation of the agency. This organization is located in Quinnesec, Michigan. The shelter offers services such as finding homes for adoptable animals, providing shelter for stray animals, and offering assistance to owners and finders of lost animals.

This is an agency fund that supports Bay Cliff Health Camp programs.

Crystal Lake Senior Center

This is an agency fund that supports the Crystal Lake Senior Center's mission and role located in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

To promote youth activities for Crystal Falls and the surrounding area.

Champion/Romney Fund (DICSA)

This is an agency fund that supports the Dickinson-Iron Community Services Agency (DICSA) volunteer service center.

Dickinson Area Community Foundation

Administrative Fund
This fund ensures the continuation of the community foundation.
Unrestricted Fund

This fund helps the Foundation Board of Trustees meet our community’s needs outside our annual grant cycle.

Dickinson Conservation District

This is an agency fund that supports the conservation district located in Kingsford, Michigan. This organization has a team of likeminded individuals who are passionate about protecting, educating, and assisting the sustainable use and practices of natural resources.

Dickinson County Bike Path (DTN)

This is an agency fund that supports the bike paths and its projects to maintain the paths. Formerly known as Dickinson County Bike Path, is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) group of dedicated volunteers whose mission is to develop, maintain, and promote a network of non-motorized trails and routes throughout Dickinson County and the surrounding areas in Michigan.

Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet

This is an agency fund that supports the cancer loan closet. This organization operates to help both cancer and non-cancer patients. The loan closet offers medical equipment at no charge, as well as financial assistance to those who are in need. The loan closet is supported only by community funds and donations, not by an organization. The loan closet is operated by volunteers.

This is an agency fund that provides support to the library to carry out its role and missions.

Dickinson Hospitals’ Foundation

Benevolent Fund
This is an agency fund. The Benevolent fund helps social workers at the hospital to provide for families that have family members with a lengthy illness to help with needs while their family member is being treated.

Friends of Camp Batawagama

This is an agency fund that supports Camp Batawagama located in Crystal Falls, Michigan. Camp Batawagama was established in 1945 by two Iron County educators who were committed to creating an outdoor education experience for young people, a place they could come to learn camping skills and how to work together all while sharing an appreciation for the wilderness.

This is an agency fund that supports the operation of the Braumart Theatre. The Braumart Theatre is a historic theater located in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Imagination Factory Children's Museum - Community Center

This is an agency fund that supports the Imagination Factory Children's Museum - Community Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Menominee Range Historical Society

This is an agency fund that supports the operation of the agency. Their mission is to preserve history in Dickinson County, Michigan.

Moving Mountains Adaptive Program

This is an agency fund to provide support to Moving Mountains Adaptive Program to carry out its role and mission.

Northern Lights YMCA

This is an agency fund that supports the operation of the agency. The agency is focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Northern Lights YMCA's mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

Northwoods Air Lifeline

This is an agency fund that supports the operation of the agency. This agency is a non-profit organization of volunteer pilots from Michigan's Upper Peninsula and northeast Wisconsin who donate their time and aircraft to help patients and their families with urgent medical needs for services not found locally.

Northpointe Behavioral Healthcare System Agency Fund

This is an agency fund that supports the operation of the agency. Northpointe's mission is to improve the lives of those they serve through hope and empowerment. Their vision is a belief in potential, a right to dream, and an opportunity to achieve.

Salvation Army

This is an agency fund that supports the operation of the agency. This agency is an organization dedicated to doing the most good in its community (Dickinson County, Michigan). The Bread of Life Assistance Center offers assistance to individuals and families located in Dickinson County and those residing along the Niagara, Wisconsin border. A food pantry is maintained and available by appointment only. As funds permit, assistance with utilities, prescriptions, transportation, may be available.

United Lutheran Church Walter and Alice Hagglund Youth Fund

To provide youth scholarships to Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp or other youth activities designated by the Church Council.

VAMC Veterans Assistance Program

This is an agency fund that will provide annual financial support to the Oscar G. Johnson VAMC Veterans Assistance Program. Est. Nov. 2023.
